Frequently asked questions
We are a walk-in cafe only. The exception is for those who have special needs such as a wheelchair/mobility aid. If you have a large group (8+) we can take a booking if it is for a meal, but we are unable to take reservations for just coffee/cakes. Large group bookings are weather dependent since we have limited indoor space to accommodate. Please get in touch to enquire.
Yes, we have vegan menu items and plenty of gluten-free friendly items (including a GF bagels that can be substituted in for any of our sandos). Please let us know if you're allergic and we'll do our very best to avoid any cross-contamination.
We also have a selection of vegan and GF desserts and treats. Some are also refined sugar free. :)
We offer the following plant-based milks: Oat, Almond, and Tiger Nut Milk.
We have a small kids menu and of course all the favourites like babychinos and hot chocs. We also have two play areas—an indoor space and outdoor space—and we absolutely love having children around. We also have two highchairs available as needed. Please note that pram parking can be tricky inside (plenty of room outside for pram parking), so keep that in mind if it's an inside sort of day for you.
Despite our almost 150-year-old building, we do try to be as accessible as possible! Our main cafe area and our outdoor dining areas are wheelchair-friendly spaces and we're happy to move chairs around as needed to accommodate. Other areas (such as the Style Room and Lounge area) would be very difficult to get a chair (or pram) through because of the small doorway that leads to them.
We do have a few spaces which are also sensory friendly: the Library has low lighting and low volume music and the Lounge is set away from the rest of the cafe and tends to stay calm and quiet unless the play corner is in use.
Please note, we do not have onsite parking. If you need to pull onto the footpath to drop someone off with mobility issues, then please be mindful of pedestrians, other customers, and local traffic laws.
Yes, we love your dogs almost as much as you do! We are able to allow service dogs indoors; all others are welcome in our outdoor spaces—front veranda, laneway tables, or back porch area. Please be mindful of other customers (especially children) and make sure to come and get a doggy treat from our staff!
We do not sell on consignment. Our second hand vendors are by invitation only. If you have lots of secondhand clothing to sell, we recommend advertising on Facebook marketplace or reaching out to Harbour Collective on Coral Street—they periodically book a community space to host a second hand market that may be a good fit for you.
Occasionally, yes. It depends on the item and how much space we have available in our shed! We are mostly looking for period pieces from the 1960s-70s, but will also look at pieces from 1920s-80s. Please email us with photos and any relevant information (date, make, condition, etc) to Adriel. If you already have a price in mind please be upfront with expectations. Adriel will make an offer based on a number of factors, including demand for the type of piece on offer.
We REALLY appreciate when people think of us when it comes to donations. This is a great way to support a small hospitality business with thin margins, so thank you! The answer to this question is, "it depends." :) We take into consideration: the item, the condition, and if there are any strings attached. If you'd like to donate something to Found for use or for resale, please get in touch with Adriel and let her know what you have in mind. Please note that we reserve the right to donate goods to a charity shop if we are unable sell it at Found.
Depending on the nature and requirements of your group, we may be able to accommodate this request at a small fee (this can sometimes be waived for community groups). Please email us directly with as much information as possible so we can assess your request.
Yes, we may be able to help you host a birthday gathering or other party at Found. Please email us with the date, estimated guest numbers, catering desires, and any other relevant information and we will assess on a case-by-case basis. Please note: we are not a licensed venue and unable to serve alcohol.
